Successful Shipment for the Jinshang-Hubei ±800kV UHVDC Transmission Project at Bangguo Station

Recently, TEEE shipped the smoothing reactors to the Bangguo Converter Station, a key component of the State Grid's Jinshang-Hubei ±800kV UHVDC Transmission Project.


This groundbreaking project features an innovative, domestically developed multi-terminal cascading UHVDC technology. Its mission is to transmit electricity generated by the hydropower stations from the upper reaches of the Jinsha River to Central China. Notably, it is the first ultra-high voltage project to enter the heart of the Sichuan-Tibet Plateau and is regarded as the world's highest-altitude UHVDC transmission line. With a rated voltage of ±800 kV and a capacity of 8 million kilowatts, the transmission line stretches 1,901 kilometers, traversing Tibet, Sichuan, Chongqing, and Hubei. Once completed, it will deliver nearly 40 billion kWh of electricity annually to Central China, accounting for approximately one-sixth of Hubei Province's annual power consumption. This project will significantly enhance the national capability for balancing power supply and demand, optimize the allocation of surplus hydropower from the Sichuan-Tibet region across broader areas, and substantially bolster the power supply capacity of both Central and Southwestern power grids, meeting the burgeoning electricity demand and supporting economic growth in Central China.


As a key project in 2024, A dedicated team was formed with members from production, logistics, marketing, and other essential departments. Even during the National Day holidays, the production team worked around the clock to load the equipment, while colleagues in logistics and marketing also put in extended hours to ensure the success of the shipment.


Since the project's inception, it has been marked by scientific organization, precise planning, and detailed execution. Throughout its progression, departments have cooperated closely, overcoming obstacles, maintaining strict quality controls, and continuously contributing to the progress of the State Grid's UHV projects.
